Catherine has spent the majority of her life in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.

She is an alumni of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, where she obtained her diploma in Graphic Arts Administration.  Her subsequent training, development and work experience as an art preparator, assisting with the conservation of various art collections over the following years has given her a profound insight to the world of art and the artists that create it.

Her medium of choice is an important element in her artistic process.  Catherine focuses on line and mark through graphite and charcoal, pure and direct tools for interpreting her images.  Her work depicts the essence of experience and story, representations of beliefs, and characterizations of the world we inhabit both in our imaginings and real life.

Catherine has had many solo and group exhibitions of her work over the years.  Her art has been featured on two coins from the Royal Canadian Mint and can be found in private and corporate collections both nationally and internationally.  Major collections include the Government of Yukon Permanent Art Collection.

All of Catherine’s connections form a closely intertwined background for her art and the inspiration for her pieces.  Yukon is home, where she continues to reside and create.
